The Mexican actress Cecilia Suárez, famous for series such as “Capadocia” and “La casa de las flowers”, returns this week to the character of Andrea in “Sexo, modesty and tears 2”, the sequel to one of the most important films of the so-called “New era” of Mexican cinema.

“ Many people have asked me how I feel playing such an important role in my career again after so long and it is a gift that has made me even more aware of everything what the passing of those years has given me“, Suárez told Efe.

“Everything has changed, starting with me Body. My face, my pores. Everything is different. It would be silly not to recognize and celebrate that“, he stated after defending the right of actresses to age naturally.

It also celebrates having been “faithful” to “profound” characters, who contributed something, a vision that has positioned her as one of the most recognized actresses in Latin America.

First as the “muse” of the Mexican director Manolo Caro and as the face of characters such as Cecilia de la Mora in “ La casa de las flores” that stars in all kinds of memes, gifs, labels and other elements of social networks.

But first of all came “Sex, modesty and tears”, which for Suárez “marked a before and after in the way sex was treated in the cinema”.

“The success of that film prepared me for what was to come. Now I meet an Andrea who, although she has kept her essence, has also undergone a transformation. I loved that they developed her in a very coherent way with who she was in the first part”, she underlined.

What follows “the same, or better, is the pleasure of working with another time with wonderful companions”, expressed Suárez in reference to actors such as Susana Zavaleta and Jorge Salinas, among others, with whom he shared in the first film, which premiered in 1200.

The film, which was shot in 2020 in Mexico and premieres this February 4 on HBO MAX, finds the families of the first part, their grown children and problems of couples gestated two decades earlier. The only absentee is Demian Bichir.

“There will be many surprises, but those who saw the first part will recognize their favorite characters”, he promised.

His good moment endorses him with his presence in the American series “Promised Land ”, which tells the story of a millionaire Latino family thanks to their wine business.

The production, which is broadcast on the ABC network and is on the Hulu platform, is reminiscent of the great family sagas of television as “Dallas”, “Dynasty” and “Falcon Crest”.
