Osvaldo Rodríguez tested positive for COVID-19 and is out with El Tri to face Jamaica

The Mexico National Team was left without the player Osvaldo Rodríguez, after having tested positive for COVID-19 and adds to the absences of Raúl Jiménez, Hirving Lozano and Cesar Montes, so Gerardo ‘Tata ‘ Martino will have to look for alternatives to face the commitment against Jamaica.

The Club León player tested positive for coronavirus after taking the corresponding test upon arrival in Kingston, and must also be confined to the Caribbean island until it is negative in the next tests that are carried out. On the other hand, Rodríguez was not in the starting squad to face Jamaica.

Raúl Jiménez’s absence is due to an injury that makes it impossible for him to be in the match, while Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano is serving a suspension date, although another player who is absent due to COVID-19 is César Montes.

The left back was emerging as one of the starters for the match against the Jamaicans and will possibly be replaced by Jesus Gallardo .

Mexico will look for a victory against Jamaica to stay within the direct qualifying positions for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
