The month of January is ending and the time is approaching for the Mexican boxer Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez to choose who he will face among the different challengers for his unified titles.

I had not finished on 2021, the Canelo’s victory was fresh and different managers already projected their fighters in a fight against Álvarez.

According to the sports chain ESPN, Canelo has two lucrative offers on the table among all the ones he has studied together with his team led by Eddy Reynoso.

One of them is from PBC of Al Haymon for a defense on May 7 for the undisputed heavyweight championship WBC Middleweight, Jermall Charlo

.

Charlo has a record of 31 wins 0 losses, 22 by way of KO. Of 19 years old and born in Houston, he knows how to intimidate and unsettle his rivals with words, as well as standing out for his ‘power jap.

The second offer comes from Matchroom Boxing from Eddie Hearn for the Canelo to square off in the ring against light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol

on May 7. The same promotion and the same offer includes the expected trilogy: a new fight against the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin the 17 of September, but by 168 pounds and the four belts that the Mexican wears.

Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) would present an opportunity for Canelo to pursue a second title reign in the 175 pounds. The native of Russia of 31 years old is a tricky boxer who is adept at controlling range with his jab. What he hasn’t done recently is entertain, with two decision wins at 2021 that saw little action.

ESPN also reported that Saúl Álvarez prefers to fight on May 5, Mexico’s Independence Day and is also open to accepting a match for September.
