The Italian referee Diana Di Meo denounced on social networks that she is a victim of cyberbullying, and that it has been spread through WhatsApp and Telegram intimate videos of her.
At 22 years old, the whistler has more than 110 a thousand followers on Instagram and is part of the Italian Federation of Referees. She plays in the lower categories of Italian soccer and amateur matches.
“I found out about these videos thanks to some guys who told me they had seen me on the networks. I reported it on my social profiles to strengthen myself because I had been locked up at home for two days. It’s something I don’t wish on anyone, I’m trying to resist, but not everyone succeeds because of the harassment and comments you receive “, indicated the referee on his Instagram account.
It was also known that Di Meo had already filed a complaint with the Italian authorities, who initiated investigations with the police cybernetics, in order to find those responsible for exposing the intimate videos of the whistler.
“Many of us dare to talk about this, we hide. I hope to give a voice to all those victims who are blamed , when in reality the culprit is on the other side of the screen, either by spreading or sharing ” she concluded.
