This Saturday the Mexican Brandon Moreno will go up to the octagon to face Deiveson Figueiredo in what will be the co-main event of the UFC 270 in Anaheim and took the opportunity to speak well of his countryman Saúl Canelo Álvarez.

‘Bebé Asesino’ Moreno explained part of his friendly relationship with the already living boxing legend like Canelo : “I think that in Mexico they sometimes criticize him a lot. But personally, I don’t understand why. The guy is amazing. When you meet him and talk to him, you realize why he is what he is, why he is the champion that he is. He is a humble, serious person,” he said in LA Times.

He even expressed that the current best pound-for-pound boxer today, and undisputed champion of super middleweight, has given him some advice to face his fights.

“It’s serious, that’s why many people call it bloody. But they are personalities. The guy is serious, but that doesn’t take away from him being humble and that doesn’t take away from what a good person and how kind he is. So when I met him we had a little chat. He gave me some boxing advice and some advice about life, about what one should do when one is at the top”, he acknowledged.

Moreno was born in Tijuana and competes in the flyweight category in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), he is the current champion of that division. His professional record is 19-5-2.

This Friday he weighed 224 pounds on the scale, like his rival Figueiredo, for what which will be his fight that will serve as a prelude to the main course of the night: Francis Ngannou vs. Cyril Gane, who will fight for the heavyweight title.
