One of the elements that has characterized Facebook since its launch is its ability to offer attractive products to its users. This is the case of Facebook Dating, a function developed by the social network that allows you to find potential partners through the platform.
Although Facebook Dating is part of the family of Facebook products, in order to use it it is necessary to create an alternate account on the platform which must include user data such as their personal interests and what they are looking for in a possible partner.
From Facebook they explain that the reason behind the need to create a new account is that the social network will not show the Facebook Dating information on the social network, so none people close to you will have to find out that you are registered.
“We will not make suggestions of current Facebook friends in Dating nor will we notify you when they join Dating. For example, your Couples profile, your Couples messages and the people you indicate that you like or with whom you match in Couples will not appear in your Facebook news section”, they indicate.
Also, the chat used to communicate through the platform is different from Facebook Messenger. They clarify that, if they wish, users can delete their Facebook Dating profiles, without this affecting their personal Facebook account.
“Facebook Dating is intended for people over 18 years of age who have a valid Facebook account. At the moment, Facebook Couples is not available to all users”, they specify.
How does it work?
The function to find a partner on Facebook works from the photos chosen by users when creating their profile . The person will receive recommendations from potential partners and similarly to Tinder they must like or discard the profile by pressing a heart or an “x”.
In addition, users can view elements that both have in common, such as Facebook groups or events they have attended.
