Marcell Ozuna homered for the second consecutive game and Carlos Peguero drove in four runs, and the Cibao Giants won, in a war of hits, 09-5 to the Eastern Stars, to take the lead in the final of the Dominican winter baseball championship.

With this victory, the Giants were ahead 2-1 in the series that is scheduled for the best of seven games.

Ozuna came to bat in the fourth inning, with the score 4-5, with a runner on the bases and two out, when he found a pitch from pitcher Wei-Chieh Huang (0-1), which he deposited behind the left field wall of the Tetelo Vargas stadium, in San Pedro de Macorís (east ).

Ozuna, as in the first game, made the pose of taking several “selfies” while he walked the bases. A controversial celebration that he has done in the two home runs he has hit.

What do you think of the hooliganism called “perreo” of some Caribbean baseball players. Here Marcell Ozuna from Cibao today after giving Hr to Mexican Wilmer Rios from Los Estrellas. And let’s not even talk about the narrator 🤦.

Even in the final of the Colombian League of Baseball have emulated Ozuna with his “selfie” when he hits a home run.

Ozuna’s strike, his second in the final, put the colts ahead 6-4, who would not relinquish the lead in the match.

The Giants had lost control of the game, after having started winning, by scoring a return in the first inning for an RBI hit by Kelvin Gutiérrez, before the opener of the greens, the Cuban Yunesky Maya.

The Orientals attacked strongly in the second episode, scoring five runs, with Jeremy standing out Peña with a one-round RBI single and Junior Lake, with a double, who brought two runners to the plate.

The colts returned to the charge in the third, driven by Carlos Peguero’s RBI single and Moisés Sierra’s RBI double, which set the stage for Marcell’s home run in the fourth inning.

Those from San Francisco de Macorís extended their lead in the sixth, when Peguero hit a double to left field, which drove in the three teammates he found on the bases and added one more in the seventh by Hanser Alberto’s sacrifice fly.

With his two RBIs this Wednesday, Ozuna, who had three hits in this match, registers five produced in the last two games of the final..

This Thursday there will be no action in the final of the Dominican championship, which will continue next Friday in San Francisco de Macorís.
