The majority of Latinos say that the United States offers a better opportunity for a life than in the countries where their families originate and Although they admit that family ties are less strong in this nation, they point out that they would migrate again, if they had to make that decision again.

“Most also say that the US has better conditions to raise children, access health care and treat the poor”, according to a national survey by the Pew Research Center .

83% of those surveyed say that the country offers a better opportunity for their children; the 76% that there are favorable conditions for their descendants; the 69% that there is access to health services, and the 40% highlights the treatment of the poor.

These positive ratings make sense with the question about whether they would migrate to this nation again , since the 84% affirms that it is; even the 78% of non-citizens or do not have a ‘green card’.

“Among Hispanic immigrants who do not have US citizenship or a green card… the 13% say that they would stay in their country of origin, if they had to make the decision again”, it is reported.

Latinos affirm that the treatment of immigrants is almost the same as in their countries, since the 34% rate it positively, while the 34% gives the same rating to their nations. 25% say that treatment is better in their countries of origin.

Family ties are considered better in their nations with a 48%, while the 22% says it’s better in the US, but the 27% indicates that it is equal.

Regarding discrimination, 48% say that there is no difference in their country and this; another 26% points out that discrimination based on race and skin color is not a problem in the place of birth.
