A Michael Jackson impersonator, who also works as a wrestler, was recorded knocking down an assailant who slapped him on the Las Vegas Strip.
The fight started over the weekend, when the assailant, who was wearing a green T-shirt that said “I can’t fix stupidity”, started hitting the Michael Jackson impersonator, a professional wrestler named Santana Jackson.
Jackson, who says the attack on him was surprise and unprovoked, took control and threw the upset pedestrian to the ground after being kicked.
They were seen struggling on the ground, with Jackson clearly keeping the upper hand at all times.
He overpowered the unidentified assailant in a headlock, after his hair was pulled, and the two men e separated shortly after.
The video was filmed on Freemont Street, one of the most popular streets in Las Vegas.
A Twitter user named Marcus Deegan recorded the incident and shared the video with the caption “Welcome to Freemont street! Hehehe.”
The post has amassed over 1.6 million views since it was posted two days ago.
The man, surely regretting his decision to start the fight, is seen closing his eyes before the crowd is heard saying, “He’s out.”
Moments later, a bystander in the crowd called for help, while other people separated the two men.
However, the loser did not seem to have learned his lesson when he stood up and got into a position of fight, as if ready for a second round with the ‘King of Pop’ impersonator.
As of Monday night, the popular video has received ‘likes’ of 12,200 users and has been retweeted more than 2,000 times.
Those users who saw the clip have been quick to make jokes related to Michael Jackson over the incident, with the vast majority backing the impersonator.
“Oh lord that smooth criminal just knocked over that prostitute to get on the floor, it rocked her world and left blood all over the floor dance,” wrote one user.
“Oh well I guess it’s just human nature…too bad…I’ll meet you outside…I don’t want to start something” .
Another user pointed to the quote “you can’t fix stupid” written on the man’s t-shirt and, while accepting the quote, wrote: “No you don’t can…”
Despite the online praise, Jackson clarified that “I wasn’t trying to hurt this guy, I was just trying to keep him from hitting me.”
“Please know that I don’t think fighting is the answer, so try to avoid a fight if you can. Stay safe,” the singer added.
Jackson is a member of the MJ Live Show, a tribute concert to the late pop star in Las Vegas. According to the organization’s website, he is one of the “top Michael Jackson tribute artists” in the world and is “committed to bringing the magic of Michael Jackson to audiences around the world.”
