Disney's 'Charm': Song 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' Beats 'Let It Go' From 'Frozen'

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, the catchy song that is part of the soundtrack of the movie “Encanto

”, is the first song from a Disney film to reach fourth place on the US Billboard Hot chart 100 in more than 26 years.

The theme, produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, has reached a position that until now had only been achieved by “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, by Elton John for “The Lion King” movie (August 1994), and “Colors of the Wind”, by Vanessa Williams and belonging to “Pocahontas” (August 1995).

What’s more, the song has surpassed “Let It Go”, from the movie “Frozen”, which reached number 5 in April 2014 and won the Oscar for best original song.

In the records of the greatest musical successes of Disney, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is only behind “A Whole New World”, from the tape “Aladdin”, which hit #1 in March 1993.

Likewise, last week the album that includes the complete soundtrack of “Encanto” dethroned Adele and reached number 1 on the list of best-selling albums in the United States, which Billboard has compiled since 1956.

The animated film is based on the magical realism of Colombia and narrates the life of the Madrigals, a family that lives in the mountains and whose members have special powers except for Mirabel, a young woman from 15 For years he has been struggling to find his gift and save his family from a threat that can make magic disappear.

The most successful song of the musical, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, is centered in the character of Bruno, the supposedly missing uncle of the family.

“Encanto” has become one of the biggest animated box office hits in the pandemic era, grossing 93, 1 million dollars in the United States and 222,6 million worldwide to date.
