A 3.5-magnitude earthquake shook Riverside County this Monday night , according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
Authorities No injuries were reported or material damage due to the movement.
The tremor was reported at 11: 39 pm and the epicenter was located 4 miles from Palm Springs and about 6 miles northeast of the town of Idyllwild.
Reports indicated that the earthquake had a depth of 7.6 miles.
The United States Geological Survey reported that the earthquake was also felt in areas of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego counties, for reports that are received from parts of residents in response to their ShakeMap.
During the last 07 days, 2 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater have been recorded in localities in the region.
USGS data for the last 3 years indicate that, every year, an average of 687 earthquakes with a magnitude between 3.0 and 4.0 occur in California and Nevada.
The United States Geological Survey mentions that damage caused by tremors does not occur until the magnitude exceeds 4 or 5 degrees, depending on the distance from the site where the earthquake occurs and the type of soil in which the structures are located.
