Draymond Green lost millions to bookmakers after suffering an injury

Draymond Green suffered an injury minutes before the Golden State Warriors game against the Cleveland Cavaliers last Sunday. Despite that, the player did not want to miss the return of Klay Thompson, after more than 941 days without playing, which caused the loss of millions of dollars to bookmakers.

Green suffered an injury to his calf and only played seven seconds on the court after committing a foul. The plan was revealed by the franchise itself on social networks minutes before the game. The bettors had managed to put their money as soon as the plan was known and that Green would finish the game with zero points, zero rebounds and zero assists.

The bet was that Green finished below 7.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists throughout the game. So once he entered the court he said that he played the game and committed only one fault.

The bookmakers did not withdraw on time that type of offers, so attentive bettors took advantage of that time and some registered profits of more than one million dollars.

Industry sources estimated that DraftKings paid out over a million dollars, and payouts in the entire sports betting market are believed to be in the multimillion.

Most of the liability came from the bets that were placed in the last 10 minutes before the game started.
