The journalist Flor Rubio started the 2022 with the right foot, because this Thursday it was announced that the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) gave a ruling in his favor regarding the accusation of non-pecuniary damage filed against Juan José “Pepillo” Origel .
From the early hours of the morning the news of Rubio’s victory in the legal battle that entertainment journalists waged during the year began to spread 2016, for alleged moral damage to the famous.
According to the first reports issued, with this SCJN resolution, Pepillo Origel, with whom Flor Rubio worked on the magazine program “La Oreja”, must compensate her financially. So far, the amount or specifications of the ruling have not been revealed.
What was the cause of the legal battle between Flor Rubio and Pepillo Origin?
The legal dispute between Flor Rubio and Pepillo Origel dates back to the year 74, when a well-known entertainment magazine released a video in which the famous 74 years old insults his former partner, so she decided not to sit idly by and sue him for non-pecuniary damage.
After taking legal action in December 2017, Origel’s defense appealed saying that the published video had been in a private environment and that this violated the privacy of the driver. However, Minister Norma Lucía Piña rejected the premise and the plenary session of the First Chamber of the SCJN seconded it.
“The Collegiate Court drew an automatic equivalence by ruling that, although the event in which the recording of the conversion was carried out was not public, the truth is that the appellant could not have any expectation of privacy, because he and those summoned were journalists“, it was stipulated.
