After the defeat in the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid (2-3 ), the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, went down to the locker room and harangued the players, to whom he said that all the Barcelona fans were “proud” of the game they completed.
The Barcelona entity published this Thursday a video of the speech that the club’s chief executive transmitted to the squad and coaching staff in the dressing room of the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
In his one-minute speech, Laporta praised the “ talent, pride and ability to overcome ” that, in his opinion, all the players showed in the classic of the Spanish Super Cup.
“All of us ‘culers’ are proud to be from Barça, more than ever. The messages that come to us from Barcelona for the game you played, in which you showed your face at all times, you showed talent, pride, the ability to outperform yourselves, and you have been brave… it is a pride“, began the president.
In this sense, he underlined that “this is the way” to follow and assured the players that “the only thing missing” is to start winning, something that he was convinced they will achieve.
“You have shown your face, we are proud“, closed Laporta to the applause of the players and members of the coaching staff .
