Erick Torres, former Chivas de Guadalajara player, will play this season in the “second division” of soccer in the United States States: the USL. The “Cube” was announced this Thursday afternoon as the new player for Orange County SC , current champion of the tournament.
The Mexican, at the time considered one of the young jewels of the Sacred Flock , has seen how his career has not taken off at the level of the expectations that many had. On the contrary, after managing to add some matches with El Tri, he has lowered his level considerably.
In Chivas he added 20 goals over two stages with the team. Later, in Chivas USA, he continued at a notorious level that led him to be taken into account by Miguel Herrera, former coach of Mexico.
After his second stage with the flock, the “Cube” ended up in the Houston Dynamo for the 2015/16. He had an ephemeral stint at the Cruz Azul and returned to the Dynamo, together in which he only managed to exhibit a solid performance and prolonged in only one of the three seasons, the 2017/18 (16 goals in 31 parties).
His last three internships have been forgotten: in Pumas, Tijuana and Atlanta United (MLS) barely added 10 goals in 67 encounters.
With 28 years old, the native of Guadalajara still has room to return to more competitive football and look like he did at the time with chives. However, his career takes a step back when he “falls” to the second division of the United States.
Key moment in the Cube race.
