A stuffed animal that concealed an apparent crystal was detected by a canine officer of the National Guard (GN) before being sent from a courier company and parcel in Jalisco , to the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States.
The discovery was made when national guardsmen, accompanied by a canine specimen, with prior authorization, entered the facilities of the private company during a preventive tour in search of illicit substances and firearms.
The officer named LAYLA made the discovery when he was tracking various packages that were in the distribution yards waiting to go to their destinations.
A red cardboard box caught the attention of LAYLA, who presented an alert, followed by an allusive indication of a possible positive for an illicit object or substance.
When opening the package there was a stuffed toy that hid compact granulated powder with the characteristics of the drug known as crystal.
The apparent narcotic was secured and that made available to the ministerial authorities in the entity, where the type of drug and its weight will be determined exactly.
Since 2015, the DEA warned of an increase in the use of amphetamines and methamphetamines in the United States, probably driven by the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
