In order to prevent COVID infections, California residents take advantage of the services offered by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) ) online and without having to go to an office in person.

As a temporary measure during the COVID pandemic, Nearly all Californians can renew their driver’s license online, even if the notice to renew states that an in-person visit is required. They will have to go to a DMV office to complete the process, but they can take advantage of online services to make the physical operation in the office faster.
By completing the application virtually, people can take the confirmation code and documents to the DMV office, even the same day, to receive a service fast and without the need for an appointment.
