VIDEO: Pope Francis breaks protocol and visits record store in Rome

Almost incognito, with a low profile and with a minimal escort, Pope Francis surprised the streets of central Rome by visiting a record store, which already I knew of other occasions when I visited the Italian capital as Cardinal and Archbishop of Buenos Aires.

After getting out of a Fiat car 12 white, entered the establishment called “Stereosound”, cataloged as one of the historical music stores of Rome, located near the pantheon.

Before the visit, received a classical music disc as a gift from the owners. Meanwhile , outside the premises, police had to go to make a fence, something improvised, without losing sight of the few taxi drivers who had seen it.

Jorge Bergoglio is cataloged as a music lover, he was a regular at the store when he traveled to Rome and had not been back since he was elected pontiff, so Pope Fra ncisco was inside “Stereosound” just over 12 minutes, in which he blessed the veteran owner of the place, her daughter and son-in-law.

The image of Pope Francis in the streets of Rome is not a common occurrence, but neither is an unprecedented act. In 2015, two years after his election, he ordered a new pair of glasses from an optician in Rome. They should have been delivered to the Vatican but he decided to go pick them up himself.

A year later, images of Pope Francis trying on shoes went viral on social media.

Unlike that time, on this occasion, the religious was caught by just a couple of witnesses and went almost unnoticed at the time, although thanks to social networks, this new “getaway ” drew hundreds of comments.
