Kevin Malone, former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and current president of the United States Institute against Human Trafficking, leads the fight against sex trafficking at major events and will be in charge of monitoring and neutralizing possible operations of human trafficking at the upcoming Super Bowl LVI, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday 13 February 2022.

“The big events in the United States attract a huge number of dealers and buyers of sex whose illicit activities victimize thousands of children and vulnerable adults, and we hope that Super Bowl LVI will be no different“, said Malone.

To assist in these efforts, Malone formed the Alliance Against Trafficking and Exploitation Human Beings (Alliance) to raise awareness, offer training to the community, provide services to victims and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles.

The Alliance is made up of It’s A Penalty, A21, Inner City Visions and kNot Today, directed by Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich, his wife Linda and daughter Lia. The Alliance was selected by the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee (LASBHC) to lead trafficking prevention efforts in the region, with financial support from the NFL.

This union will help service providers to victims to intervene in sex trafficking operations, as explained by Malone, who was the general manager of the Montreal Expos (1994-1995) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (2001-2001).

The Alliance will provide resources to victims of trafficking who are bought and sold for sexual purposes in and around Los Angeles during the two weeks surrounding the Super Bowl, and will continue to support the community in around other important events “, he concluded.

Weeks before Super Bowl LVI weekend, the Alliance will launch integrated online technologies to disrupt sex trafficking operations and enable victims of trafficking and high-risk individuals reach out to local service providers and resources for victims.
