4.8 magnitude earthquake shakes area near Kings Canyon National Park

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 was reported near the Park Kings Canyon National, south of Sierra Nevada and east of Fresno, California.

According to the USGS interactive map, several Fresno County residents reported feeling the earthquake, however, thus far no known victims or significant damage .

The epicenter of this earthquake is nine miles southeast of Deer Springs , which is an area located in Inyo County, California. Initially, the preliminary data from the USGS indicated a magnitude of 5.2, but later it was corrected.

Some users shared images of the movement on social networks that was perceived in a slight way, but enough to show as evidence of the moment.

This tremor occurs two weeks after another 6.2 magnitude earthquake felt in Northern California, which occurred at 24 miles off the coast of Petrolia.
