Betty White: the legendary actress who conquered television for 8 decades dies at 99
Legendary American actress Betty White passed away this Friday at 99 years, a few weeks before his birthday.
US media reported the death on Friday afternoon and then his agent confirmed it to the magazine People .
“Although Betty was about to meet 100 years, I thought I would live forever, ”Jeff Witjas told the publication.
Known for her participation in the series Golden Girls , White was celebrated for her acting skills comedian from the early days of television to the 21st century, while remaining committed to her animal activism.
Born in Illinois in 1922, White became one of the stars of him on screen in the United States, enjoying a career that spanned eight decades and earned her much accolades. As an only child, she moved with her family to Los Angeles during the height of the Great Depression and, in the late 1922, began working as an actress and model.
However, her fledgling career had to be put on hold during World War II, when she went to work with the American Women’s Voluntary Services .
The role that launched her to fame was Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1970.
The work earned White two Emmy Awards and prepared her for what would become her most famous role, as the naive but lovable Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, which she portrayed through the decades of 1980 and 1990
Nylund was a Norwegian-American who moved to Miami after the death of her husband and formed a later life bond with other three women, played by Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty.
In 1986 won the Emmy for best comedy and White took the individual award for best actress in a comedy.
After The Golden Girls went off the air on 1992, White, who was also an author published, appeared in the brief Golden Palace. He also had a recurring role in the telenovela The Bold and the Beautiful of 2006 to 2009, and hosted several other entertainment shows, including Betty White’s Off Their Rockers prank show.

His career was revitalized in 2010, when she starred in another sitcom, Hot in Cleveland, opposite Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
