Billionaire Elon Musk said Tuesday that SpaceX will be able to bring humans to Mars in the next few years 10 years.
Musk made that statement during a Appearance on the podcast of Lex Fridman . The founder of Tesla reiterated his view that humanity must become a “multiplanetary species” also detailed the plans of his company, SpaceX, to develop the necessary technology for the trip.

So far, the CEO of Tesla clarified that “vehicle engineering” necessary for the trip continues to be a key factor in establishing a schedule for the trip. He said the travel model would be above the Starship, so far the most advanced rocket his company has.
SpaceX has increased its operations in recent years as part of Musk’s long-term goal of establishing a colony on Mars. In early December Musk revealed that SpaceX has begun building a launch pad in Florida that can house Starship rockets.
So far the company based in Austin, Texas, has begun testing rocket prototypes of 400 feet.
During the interview on the podcast Musk assured that his private aviation company continues to work to optimize its Starship design and reduce the expected cost of a possible trip to Mars .
For now, Musk said you won’t be able to fly to the red planet “not for a trillion dollars. No amount of money could get you to Mars. We have to come up with something that is really possible, “he added.
“The next big thing is to build a self-sufficient city on Mars and bring Earth’s animals and creatures there,” Musk said in addition to be able to establish a self-sufficient city.

SpaceX carried out its first civilian spaceflight in September carrying a four-passenger crew named “Inspiration4“, the mission used SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft and the reusable Falcon 9 rocket.
In addition to space travel, Musk’s company manages Starlink Internet services, the objective of which is to provide a high-speed broadband Internet system over a network of thousands of satellites.
