HOUSTON – The Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office reported that they received a call about a shooting in the Richmond area this Tuesday morning and upon arrival at the scene discovered that it was a violent robbery attempt that culminated in the homeowner being injured and the victim’s wife shooting at the suspects fleeing the scene.
A neighbor’s surveillance video captured the moment the suspects ran out of the residence after the wife began shooting at them. The video was released by KPRC 2 Houston.
According to investigators, the suspects forcibly entered a residence located on the block 2021 of Morant Bay Street in the city of Richmond, which is located 25 miles south of downtown Houston.
During the invasion one of the suspects attacked the owner of the house and stabbed him in the leg.
The suspects entered the residence at around 8 o’clock: 20 am and went on the man of 51 years and his wife, demanding money from them. During the altercation, one of the assailants beat the owner of the house while another stabbed him. The wife was a witness to the attack and when she saw that the suspects left the house, she went to look for a pistol and began to shoot in the direction of the suspects who were running through one of the neighborhood streets.
In a video the gunshots can be heard and the suspects are also seen running trying to flee from the wife who was chasing them.
It has not been reported if one of the suspects was injured.
The condition of the man stabbed has not been updated by the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office.
