Mbappé and Lewandowski are against the World Cup every two years
The attacker of Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé , and the Bayern Munich player, Robert Lewandowski , expressed their rejection of the idea of holding a World Cup of football every two years, as FIFA intends to do.
Footballers expressed concern about the little rest that the players will have from having the maximum football party, according to the intentions of the governing body.
During the Globe Soccer Awards celebration, Mbappé commented: “ We like to play, but it’s too much. If people want to see quality, we have to take a break. ”
“Playing the World Cup every two years would make this competition ‘normal’ and that shouldn’t be the case. The World Cup, the League of Nations… We love to play, but it’s too much ”, he stressed.
In relation to the same topic, Lewandowski indicated that the world football calendar is already saturated to have to endure a new competition.
“We have many games during the year, with very dense weeks. If you want to give the fans something different, you need a break ”, he said.
