A man who had a knife in his possession was killed this Sunday afternoon by shots from the police at a service station in a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles .
The events occurred approximately 6 pm at the Chevron gas station, on the block 2900 from Broadway Avenue and Eagle Dale Avenue, in the Eagle Rock neighborhood , northeast of the city.
Detective Meghan Aguilar, Los Angeles Police Department , reported that when the officers arrived at the service station they found a man inside a parked car.
The subject was bleeding and had a butcher knife in his possession.
When he got out of the vehicle, he refused to drop the knife, an instruction given to him by LAPD officers.
The detective said that was approaching an officer when officers opened fire on the suspect , without knowing the exact data of how many shots the subject received.
The man was transferred to a hospital, where he died at approximately 9 o’clock: 30 pm
No more related injuries were reported to the case.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into this police shooting.
