The Cedars Sinai Medical Center issued an urgent call this Monday Healthy Los Angeles Area Residents to Donate Blood Due to Critical Winter Break Shortages and Increased COVID Illnesses – 19 .
Traditionally, the holiday season is a difficult season for blood banks, but the current one has seen a shortages that have intensified due to the coronavirus pandemic, which halted blood donation drives in schools and elsewhere .
According to the medical center, the American Red Cross and other blood providers are struggling to recover their inventories which were severely decreased during 2020 by COVID- 19 .
Cedars Sinai is one of the few Level I trauma centers in Los Angeles. Your patients receive transfusions of more than 30, 000 units of red blood cells, 7, 000 platelet units and 11, 000 plasma units every year .
people who are in good health and eligible to donate blood and platelets for patients of the medical center , with the purpose of helping to the national blood supply.
Care at the Cedars Sinai par blood donors are available from Monday to Saturday in the south tower of the hospital, in the room 1690 .
The hours are from 8 am to 3 pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday; Tuesday and Wednesday of 12. 30 am to 6: 30 pm, and Saturdays from 7: 30 am to 2: 30 pm
