The prestigious portal The Guardian revealed the list of the 100 best male footballers of the 2021 east 24 from December. For the second year in a row, Robert Lewandoski is ranked number one as the best footballer followed by Lionel Messi, who won his seventh Ballon d’Or, and Mohamed Salah was in third position .

The top 10 complete it: Karim Benzema, Jorginho, Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kanté and Kevin De Bruyne.

The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo dropped five places on the list, after being in third position in 2020, after his departure from Juventus to Manchester United where he has turned into a figure of the English set.

The Italian Jorginho was one of the footballers who was not on the list in the previous edition, but after his outstanding participation with Chelsea and then with the Italian national team he has become one of the best midfielders in the world.

One of the surprises on the list is that the Brazilian Neymar fell to the number one position 13 which has been plagued with injuries, and lost the final of the Copa América against Argentina at the Maracana.

Pedri, winner of the Golden Boy award, was in the number position 21 after a great year where he played all the tournaments with Barcelona and then the Eurocup and the Olympic Games with the national team of Spain.
