An explosion at a Texas oil refinery early Thursday could drive gasoline prices higher in all the country.
The explosion and fire at the Exxon-Mobil plant occurred in the city of Baytown , in the Houston area where at least four workers were injured in the explosion.
The complex is one of the largest refineries in the United States and the accident could hamper fuel production for the next few months .
In the country the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline is now $ 3. 29 dollars , which represents a decrease of 11 cents compared to a month ago.
However, fuel prices continue to be 47% Taller than a year ago . The reason is very simple, the demand for fuels continues to be high while the supply is low.
