Multiple cases of covid-19 affect two La Liga teams

Two teams from La Liga Santander in Spain have confirmed multiple cases of covid – 19 within the squad. Malaga reported that there are six positives within the team and Celta de Vigo confirmed four cases this Friday.

The Malaga team has six casualties that must pass at least 10 days of strict quarantine at home and then give negative in the test to be able to return to training in the first days of January.

The Malaga team issued a statement about the cases and the steps to follow in the following days to rule out more infections within the Spanish team’s squad.

The Entity informs that its medical services have detected six cases positive for COVID – 19 among the members of the male first staff. Those affected are well, all of them are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms ” , reported the team.

They also reported that on Monday 27 in December they will test all the players again and Daily antigen tests will be carried out to rule out new infections.

On the other hand, Celta also confirmed four cases within the team this Thursday. The Vigo team has kept the identity of the players who tested positive who will remain in their homes fulfilling the confinement during the Christmas holidays.

Celta had detected several cases in their squad, but it had been one of the clubs with the least contagions in La Liga. The next 27 December all the squad will be subjected to new PCR tests on their return to training.

Spanish football has also been affected by the new Covid variant Ómicron – 19 as well as as the English Premier League and Serie A in which they have had to suspend matches and restrict the 100% of the stages to prevent more infections.
