Surfer was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities investigation from Morro Bay on whether the cause of death was the alleged shark attack continues

Authorities reported that a surfer died after an apparent shark attack in Morro Bay , on the central coast of California , on Friday.
Harbor and Morro Bay police and fire crews were called to the beach around 10: 30 am after the surfer’s body was pulled out of the water north of Atascadero Road.
Surfer was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and age have not been released. The San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim and is working to notify family members before revealing the victim’s name.
Researchers say beaches and areas state parks remain open, but locals and visitors must stay out of the water for the next 24 hours.
