The Dinosaurs Are Back

America’s largest and most realistic dinosaur exhibit is back. Jurassic Quest, which includes more than one hundred species based on real dinosaurs, will be presented in two locations in Southern California, at the Convention Center (751 W. Katella Ave., Anaheim) from 29 from December to 2 January, and at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura) from 15 to the 17 from January. In addition to the hundreds of life-size dinosaurs, there are games and attractions, shows, interactive science activities, a toddler play area, and more. Lights in OC

For the first time, Angel Stadium (2000 E. Gene Autry Way, Anaheim) will be the setting for Magic of Lights, a light show that you can admire from the car. With dozens of lights displayed, lighted marquees and digitized animation, the show was built with thousands of LED lights and spans the stadium parking lot. Among the themes that can be seen are the Prehistoric Christmas, the Big Foot Monster Trucks and the Snow Flurry tunnel. ‘Young Man’ arrives at the Getty

The J. Paul Getty Museum’s new acquisition, Gustave Caillebotte’s “Young Man at His Window”, is already on display at this museum. Upon completion, it will undergo preservation before being permanently installed in the museum’s West Pavilion, where it will be its new home. The work will be added to Highlights: 17 th -Century Paintings and Sculpture, which integrates pieces by Van Gogh, Monet and Rodin, among others. Ends January 9. Free entry with prior reservation. Japanese drums

The Japanese drum combo, Yamato, will perform his new production entitled Tenmei at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) (18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge). More than 150 shows all over the world, Yamato is a band that plays the drums Wadaiko, traditional Japanese percussions. Posadas en la placita

The last posadas of the Christmas season will take place these days in Plaza Olvera (806 N. Alameda St., The Angels). The event, one of the oldest in the city, starts every night starting at 5: 30 pm, until Friday 24. They begin with a candlelight procession in the historic house known as Ávila Adobe. The leaders of the procession, usually children, lead the rest down Olvera Street singing in English and Spanish. At the end, champurrado and sweet bread will be served for free. Virtual celebration

What was planned to be a festival with an audience present, will now be a single one virtual due to the new wave of infections with the new strain, omicron. The edition 62 of the LA County Holiday Celebration will take place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center, and will feature the participation of a score of artists, including the Celtic Irish Dance Academy, Daniel Ho & Halau Hula Keali’i or Nalani , Demdrebrah West African Drum and Dance , the Jung Im Lee Korean Dance Academy and the Pacífico Dance Company. To be painted

As part of the Black American Portraits, an exhibition shown at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles), the museum will host Andell Holiday Family Day, an on-air event free in which attendees will be able to participate in a workshop in which they will learn portrait techniques. The class will be led by LACMA staff. The workshop will be face-to-face at the Smidt Welcome Plaza. Admission is free but it is necessary to reserve in advance. Today Thursday 12 at 4 pm.
