Anthony Fauci calls for the immediate dismissal of a Fox News host for inciting violence against him
The doctor. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, asked Fox News to fire the presenter Jesse Watters , for attacking him with violent rhetoric at a conservative conference earlier this week.
“It’s horrible that he said that. And he will go, most likely, unaccountable, “Fauci told CNN of Watters’ comments. “I mean, whatever network he’s on isn’t going to do anything with him. I mean, that’s crazy. The guy should be fired on the spot. ”

Watters on Monday encouraged attendees of the Turning Point USA organization’s AmericaFest conference to “ambush” Fauci with dubious questions about the National Institutes of Health, which according to Watters, is allegedly funding research into ” gain of function “at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.
” Now go in for the fatal shot. The fatal shot? With an ambush? Mortal. Because he doesn’t see it coming, ”said Watters.
Fauci, who is the President’s chief medical adviser Joe Biden and has performed for 37 Years as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), on Tuesday described Watters’ comments as “horrible.”
“The only thing I have done over these two years is to encourage people to follow good public health practices: get vaccinated, be careful in public settings, wear a mask”, said Fauci. “And so do you have a guy out there saying people should kill me to ambush me? I mean, what kind of insanity is there in society these days? ”
Fox News defended Watters in a statement, saying: “Based on viewing the full clip and reading the full transcript, it is more than clear that Jesse Watters was using a metaphor to ask Dr. Fauci blunt questions about the gain-of-function research and his words have been twisted completely out of context. ”
Watters is the co-host of the Monday through Friday Fox News show “The Five” and the host of his own weekend show “Watters’ World.”
Fox News anchors, as well as Republican congressional legislators, have repeatedly attacked Fauci throughout the coronavirus pandemic with inflammatory and personal rhetoric.
Fauci began receiving armed security protection in ab ril past, amid online attacks by supporters of former President Donald Trump, and has spoken publicly about threats against his family.
Earlier this month, Lara Logan, a Fox News personality and host of their service broadcast, compared Fauci to the infamous Nazi physician Josef Mengele, prompting Fauci to reprimand the network for not taking disciplinary action against Logan.
“What I find surprising… is how she didn’t receives any reprimand from the Fox network, how can they let her say that without comment and without disciplinary action, “Fauci told MSNBC. “I’m amazed by that.”
