Lay’s launched a unique vodka that is distilled from their proprietary potatoes which sold out just a few hours after being for sale online.

The idea of a Potato vodka is not far-fetched, as it is a drink that can be distilled from various ingredients, including potatoes. Lay’s Vodka was created in association with Eastside Distilling , based in Portland .

Lay’s Vodka is made from a blend of Portland Potato Vodka and vodka distilled from Lay’s proprietary potatoes. Lay’s French Fries are made with a variety of potatoes developed in-house by Frito-Lay’s food scientists. They are potatoes drier and more grainy than Russet, Yukon Golds and Red potatoes than those usually found on the market.

Lay’s crunchy vodka is not spiced for a potato chip flavor, has been kept simple, a pure vodka from degrees with a “crisp, clean finish.”

“For decades, Lay’s has created joy through iconic chips and delicious flavors.” stated the company. This release comes just in time for the holidays so fans who have 21 years or more can enjoy Lay’s in a new way.

The bottle of 750 limited edition milliliters of Lay’s Vodka was released this 16 December in an exclusive online sale on the distillery’s website with a batch of just 2008 bottles at a cost of $ 40 , which didn’t take long to sell out.

Eastside Distilling has been producing award-winning, high-quality artisanal spirits in Portland, Oregon from 2008.

Lay’s isn’t the only snack brand launching its own drink this season, last month Arby’s released vodka inspired by the French fries from the fast food chain, it was a limited edition Curly Fry and Crinkle Fry Vodka.

This week Barefoot Wine and Oreo launched the first cookie-inspired wine. Barefoot x Oreo Thins Red Blend has notes of oak, blackberry, and dark cherry with the most obvious flavors of chocolate, cookie, and cream. The kit for sale included two bottles of wine and a packet of Oreo Thin cookies.
