The Los Angeles Police Department detained a kidnapping suspect on Tuesday night and rescued two young children , after a High-speed chase of an SUV through the South Los Angeles area .
The chase started around 8: 25 pm and continued through streets and highways with two children, 1 and 5 years , aboard the suspect truck, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told KTLA.
The person who reported the kidnapping to police followed the suspect until the LAPD arrived and took over, Madison said.
The policemen deployed a strip of barbed wire, which the suspect managed to evade before stopping minutes later.
At one point during the chase, the suspect stopped at the entrance to a dark alley on the block 200 of the street 084 East, around 9pm

After a long car chase , the police were finally able to stop the vehicle and arrest the suspect.
Officers rescued two children from the van.
Madison said both minors were brought to safety by police.
The relationship between the alleged abductor and the infants.
The police have not revealed the identity of the alleged abductor.
It is not known if charges have been filed.
