They ratify sanction to Panama for homophobic songs and goes without an audience against Jamaica

The FIFA Appeal Committee ratified the fine for more than $ 40, 000 dollars to Panama for the homophobic chants of fans during the qualifying matches against Qatar 2022, and must play the game without an audience before Jamaica on 30 of January, said this Thursday the Panamanian Football Federation.

Last October, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee fined Panama with more than $ 50, 000 dollars, and a game without an audience, due to alleged homophobic chants in the matches against Costa Rica and Mexico on the date September of the octagonal final of the Concacaf.

The Panamanian Football Federation (Fepafut) said this Thursday in a statement that after the sanction was known before the game with El Salvador, appealed said cas tigo achieving the provisional suspension for the game against the Salvadoran team “in which we could count on the support of the fans.”

Panama was also sanctioned, last October, with $ 21, 000 dollars for the inappropriate behavior of a group of fans (invaded n of court) during the last game played at home against the United States last 10 in October by qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Prior to their next six qualifying matches of the Octagonal Final of Concacaf, Panama will face Peru in a friendly match next 16 in January.

The Panamanian soccer team occupies fourth place in the final octagonal, awarded by the repechage with 14 points, the same as Mexico, which is third in the ranking, one from the United States, which is second, and two whole points from Canada, leading with 16 units.
