Telemundo's tremendous drop in ratings while Univision dominates with its soap operas
Telemundo is still unable to recover its audience completely and the rating drop has been fatal. However, Univision’s path has been easier and they currently have a very stable telenovela bar that has become a monster to tear down.
Audiences Wednesday 16 December they remain uneven between both television stations and the clear winner is Univision. The Latino public in the United States seems to have a preference for current Univision programming over Telemundo offers.
At 7 pm/6c there is “Por Amor o Por Dinero ”from Telemundo, a reality show hosted by Carlos Ponce who just lost 1 hour broadcast due to its low audience. On Wednesday, the show scored 770 a thousand in total and 255 thousand in the adult segment between 18 Y 49 years old, according to Nielsen figures. Univision has the telenovela “Qué le Pasa a Mi Familia” that had its best record to date with 1.5 thousand in total and 613 thousand in the demo.
At 8 pm/7c, Telemundo programmed “Hercai” which now runs for two hours a day. The Turkish soap opera is the only thing that had scored more than a million and extending its transmission has been beneficial for the chain that now in its two hours on average achieved 1.1 thousand in total and 386 thousand in the demo.
The Turkish series competes against “La Rosa de Guadalupe ”at 8 pm/7c which marked 1.5 thousand in total and 691 thousand in the demo. In its second hour, “Hercai” faces “Overcome the Past” that achieved 1. 67 thousand in total and 741 thousand in the demo.
Finally, at the time of 10 pm / 9c is “La Desalmada” on Univision which has been an overwhelming success achieving 1.7 in total audience and 731 thousand in the demo. Telemundo has at the same time “Malverde” who scored 906 a thousand in total and 352 thousand in the demo.
