Report: The ten victims of the Astroworld Festival died “suffocated”; one of them had drugs in the system

HOUSTON – More than a month ago the tragedy of the Astroworld Festival concert claimed the life of 10 people who attended the event and this Thursday the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed the cause of death of the victims.

The authorities announced that all the victims died of suffocation when being compressed, according to the report.

It should be noted that the same report revealed that the victim, Danish Baig, also died of suffocation, but in his case a drug cocktail was found in his system.

The coroner indicated that the combination of the toxic effects of cocaine, methamphetamine and ethanol contributed to his death.

Baig died during the concert that took place on November 5 at the NRG Park facilities. Baig’s brother said the victim was trying to save his fiancée, who was also caught in the crowd.

The other nine victims were identified as Rodolfo Peña, Madisonm Dubiski, Franco Patiño, Jacob Jurinek, John Hilgert, Axel Acosta, Briana Rodríguez, Bharti Shahani and Exra Blount.

What should have been a night of fun and music turned into a nightmare after a section of the crowd began to push causing a human stampede as rapper Travis Scott appeared on stage. Panic seized the night and several people were injured during the presentation, others lost their lives that night and a few days later others died in hospital of their injuries, including a 9-year-old boy.
