Border Patrol Agents arrested a Mexican identified as Melvin Salgado-Delgado accused of belonging to the gang of drug trafficking the MS – 16 south of Hebbronville, Texas.

The incident occurred on 13 December, when officers arrested the undocumented person near the state highway 16 south of Farm to Market Road 3073 .

Through a statement, the authorities reported that the detainee was identified as Melvin Salgado-Delgado , a Mexican citizen of 41 years.

They detailed that according to the verifications it was revealed that Salgado-Delgado had an extensive criminal history and even identified himself as an active member of the Salvadoran gang MS – 13 that emerged in the early eighties in Los Angeles, and a decade later began to take root in Central America, especially in El Salvador.

Given this, Salgado-Delgado was referred for federal prosecution al for his immigration violation and sent to the custody of the Marshals Service.

It was not specified if they would proceed against the Mexican for being an active member of the MS gang – 13 after being detained by Border Patrol agents.
