Driver causes fatal accident, then kills himself when jumping off Houston highway overpass

HOUSTON – A car accident this Wednesday in northwest Houston claimed the lives of two people , but the strange incident that occurred in the immediate moments after the impact between the two vehicles was heartbreaking .

Authorities reported that two people died after an accident that caused one of the vehicles to overturn in one of the high passes of the Tomball Parkway.

The spectacular incident, according to Harris County Police District 4, occurred after noon at the Sam Houston Parkway and the highway 249.

After the crash, a strange incident occurred when the driver of the car that caused the accident got out of it and ran to the detention wall.

The man, who has not been identified, jumped to the other side of the wall concrete when a patrol arrived on the scene.

An officer approached the man who was holding onto the concrete wall on a raised section of the road.

The officer attempted to speak to the man, but the man jumped from the top of the overpass and died at the scene.

The second person involved in the accident had to be airlifted to an area hospital, but died shortly after.

The road registered congestion for several hours while the investigation proceeded. The victims have not been identified.
