An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 shook the waters of the Flores Sea this Tuesday, in the central region of Indonesia, without the authorities having reported any damage at the moment.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS), which records global seismic activity, located the hypocenter at 18 kilometers deep in the waters between the islands of Sulawesi and Flores.
National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Abdul Muhari said residents of the area sensed a strong earthquake. Television images showed people rushing out of buildings that were shaken by the impact.
