Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Ambushing Three Houston Police Officers; one died and two were seriously injured

HOUSTON – Authorities announced the arrest of the suspect who allegedly shot and killed a policeman last October in the parking lot of a bar in North Houston.

Eddie Alberto Miller, 19, was arrested this Sunday by officers on the block 4400 from Williams Way Street without incident, authorities reported Monday during a press conference where relatives of the murdered officer, Kareem Atkins of the Precinct 4 Police Department, also attended. murdered.

During Miller’s arrest officers used the deceased officer’s handcuffs to handcuff the suspect.

Miller is also charged with two counts of attempted capital murder for injuring two other police officers during the incident, one of whom continues to fight for his life in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Houston.

The police from Precinct 4 involved in the incident were working in the bar 45 Norte Sports as security the Sunday 16 in October when they were called to the parking lot by people who were reporting vehicle thefts.

Atkins and his companions were ambushed when they were arresting a man at the scene.

Investigators say Miller came up behind Atkins and shot him at point-blank range and waited for the other officers to shoot them before fleeing the scene.

The authorities reported that Miller’s arrest does not mean the end of the investigation.

More arrests are likely to be made in connection with the case.

Atkins’s widow, Nadia, was present at the conference of press and thanked the efforts of the investigators to obtain the arrest of the suspect.
