“The criminal organization remains and then the children are the successors of these bosses. Who educates these children? Who feeds that system? criminal? women are (…) the family environment. These women play a much more complex and fundamental role ”, he explained.

Noted that Emma Coronel , and wife of Joaquín “el Chapo” Guzmá n, she is the first to be imprisoned and tried in the United States because that country understood the role it plays in the organization.

In addition , said that there are signs that the Government of Mexico could do the same after the arrest of Rosalinda González, wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes , alias El Mencho, leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

“We are facing a moment when, or the Government is only going to persecute a cartel and that is why it hits the c orazón, which is the wife, or will also go against others, It is something interesting and that could change the dynamics of the fight against drug trafficking if that was started ”, he indicated.

Hernández, a journalist threatened by some cartels, is at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) where he presented his book Emma and the other narco ladies ”(2021) in which it addresses the role that women play in the dynamics of corruption and the logistics of criminal organizations.

Far from being the mafia dolls with money and perfect lives as the media and television have wanted or draw them, women linked to drug trafficking have a role of supporting couples, of “cohesion of the family” and of the criminal group but they also live as “slaves” , assured the journalist.

“They are the emotional and psychological nutrient of these men, they are the fundamental ingredient to keep families together and thus extend and multiply their species because the sons and daughters who grow up in these environments end up reproducing these criminal schemes ”, argument.

This helps to understand why even though the Governments imprison leaders, confiscate assets and dismantle certain crime groups , these continue to exist, said the journalist.

The book tells stories in which it explains the reasons that make each of the wives, drug lovers and daughters afficants want to stay in this intimate circle despite the harassment and the violence they are subjected to by their partners or relatives or their environment.

In the text, written as part of the long investigation about the drug cartels that the journalist has carried out since More than a decade ago, he claimed that many actresses, models and conductors in Mexico have been lured by drug traffickers either as a one-night stand in exchange for thousands dollars or as lovers for a season.
