Gennady Golovkin and Saúl Álvarez have a history between them. The Mexican took away the invitation from the Kazakh in 2018, a year after both drew in a controversial fight. Many people have asked for the trilogy ever since, and for “GGG” there is still room for this possibility. Golovkin claimed to have the secret to beat “Canelo” .

Of course there is a secret to beating Canelo, but not the kind of secret that many people talk about. It is a secret of those that are demonstrated. We all have the keys to win, but the only way to prove it is in a fight and if we get in the ring I could show it to them ”, assured GGG.

The European also declared feeling somewhat tired of Álvarez’s last fights, noting that all his last fights have been the same. Without a doubt, he has not closed the story or the cycle before the tapatío, and with his statements he publicly leaves the window open to one more confrontation.

Ryota Murata will be Golovkin’s next rival, this 28 December in Japan. Next year, GGG will be 40 years. For his part, Canelo has 31 springs, seems to be in the prime of his career and continues looking for new challenges.

With two totally different realities, it seems difficult for the Kazakh and the Mexican to cross paths again. But the possibility will continue to exist as long as they remain active.

Gennady Golovkin on Canelo Alvarez’s recent fights: “I am a little tired of this series of boxing, like carbon copy fighters. What Eddie Hearn is trying to do is present one of his fighters after another. It’s like a soap opera that we’re all tired of. ” – Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) November 11, 2021
