Toyota has issued a new recall for 2, 259 minivans Sienna 2022 that could be failing a passive safety system , specifically the seat belt. According to Roadshow , the Japanese company seems to have detected a problem in the belt guides belt, which could prevent the correct operation of the belt during a crash, becoming a threat to the safety of the occupants. According to the details provided by the company, the problem is not common to all seats, but only occurs in the second row, therefore, the driver and his front passenger remain protected.
A few days ago, Toyota issued another recall for an approximate of 227, 000 vehicles that may be experiencing a brake assist system failure . According to the details collected so far, the affected model is the Camry 2018 – 2019, one of the brand’s most representative sedans. As happened on that occasion, the new call for review is being monitored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which is responsible for ensuring that these processes are carried out to the end. Owners who believe that they may be affected by any of these recalls can consult through the telephone number provided by Toyota: 1 – 800 – 331 – 4331.
Everything indicates that in this new case, the problem will be much easier to solve . Owners only need to watch for the notice they will receive in the mail in January of next year to bring their vehicles to a local dealership. Naturally, the company will bear all the costs associated with the repair, therefore, this call for review – like many others that are made daily – will not represent any charge for those affected.
Toyota also invites owners to use its official recall site to verify if your car should be subjected to this procedure. NHTSA also has a section on its website to verify this type of recall using the vehicle identification number (VIN) , a code composed of letters and numbers that is different for each car.
