The Los Angeles Police Department began proceedings against six employees for violating the city’s vaccination mandate, which requires full COVID vaccination – 19 before the 18 December and that requires the performance of controls with an administrative charge to the workers.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore stated that employee discharge was recommended , five sworn elements and a civil worker, who will go through the process of termination of their services.

LAPD workers who are not yet vaccinated receive notices that they must sign in which they will agree to be vaccinated or submit an exemption application, and while they are immunized they will have to undergo coronavirus tests twice a week, controls that will be paid for p or the same employees.

Moore indicated that approximately the 70% of the notifications have already been delivered, and the six LAPD employees who are in disciplinary proceedings refused to sign it .

Weekly testing of department employees started on Friday.

Agree With the mandate, unvaccinated workers must undergo two COVID checks – 19 per week , and from their respective wages will be deducted $ 23 dollars for each test.

Each worker should be tested during their free time, and the city or a provider recognized by the authorities should perform the tests . Third-party test results will not be accepted.

Mandate approved by the city

The ordinance of the city of Los Angeles establishes that the 18 December all municipal employees must be fully vaccinated or they must have already requested an exemption for religious or medical reasons, which will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

In case the exemptions are approved, coronavirus controls will be carried out once a week at the expense of the city.

In case the exemption is rejected, the worker will have five business days to file an appeal. If the result is not appealed, they will be notified that they have to present proof of vaccination. Failure to do so would result in corrective action .

Workers may resign or request their retirement in case of not complying with the mandate. These employees may be eligible to be rehired if vaccinated or if the vaccination order is lifted.
