Hispanic drunk ran over policewoman who tried to flee with her son in the vehicle after an argument with her ex-partner

HOUSTON – A Hispanic man was arrested and faces charges after he allegedly ran over a Houston Police officer while trying to arrest him during an apparent case of domestic violence and suspected of having been driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle.

Wilmer Pacheco Rivera, 31, was charged with driving drunk with a minor as passenger, aggravated assault of an officer and aggravated assault of a family member. The child who was riding in the vehicle is your son.

According to the Houston Police, Rivera was instructed by officers to stop in the 8300 block of Mykawa Street, but he disobeyed the orders and ran over an officer while trying to flee. The Police reported that the officer was transferred to a hospital in stable condition and that she was treated and discharged.

Investigators said the mother of the boy who was traveling with Rivera before the arrest had an argument with Rivera in a parking lot from a store located on the 5600 block of Mykawa Street.

During the altercation, Rivera grabbed the child and collided with the woman’s vehicle several times. The woman called 911 and patrols arrived at the scene.

The officers found Rivera beating the woman’s vehicle with his hands. The police officers asked Rivera to stop, but the man got into his vehicle and backed away.

An officer was hit by the door of Rivera’s vehicle and dragged through the parking lot.

The woman and the child were not injured in the incident.

The officers managed to capture Rivera and he was arrested without further incident.
