This is an edition that compiles three of the most important video games Remastered Story: Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas , all released in the era that Play Station 2 reigned supreme and which also laid the foundations for what we now know as the open world games, not to mention that we played an antihero.

Grand Theft Auto III

This installment was the fifth in the saga and the first in 3D graphics. It takes place in Liberty City, a fictional city based in New York, and which is made up of three districts : Portland, Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale.

In Grand Theft Auto III we took the role of Claude , who is betrayed during the first mission of the game and from there we go on a series of missions in which we will have to take revenge, this while we grow our power in the criminal world.

As we had already mentioned, this game laid the foundations for what we know as open world games, in that sense we have the possibility of following the main story or carry out a series of secondary missions, in which you can steal cars, banks or even be a firefighter and participate in clandestine races, in most of them avoiding the police.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City.

It is the sixth installment of the franchise, and takes place in the time of the 80, in the fictional city of Vice City, inspired by Miami, It is starring Tommy Vercetti,

an ex-convict who after serving a sentence of 15 years in prison return to his old ways in the world of crime where he will have to break through and transform himself into a criminal leader, through a series of missions.

Here the city is even bigger than in GTA III with a huge variety of vehicles as it has 80 and the option is added to handle motorcycles and helicopters.

Another difference regarding the previous one is the possibility of acquiring pro Mercies, which after completing missions, generate income, the option to change the character’s wardrobe, among others, which makes it an even bigger game.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

The seventh installment takes place in the fictitious state of San Andreas, which is based on the southwestern United States, California and Nevada is set in 1992. It tells the story of Carl Johnson, who returns to Los Santos after five years of living in Liberty City.

This time the plot is much more open, and takes place during events such as the rivalry between the Bloods and Crips gangs , the crack epidemic that There was at that time and the Los Angeles riots of 1992.

The map is even bigger than its predecessors, something that is saying a lot, and in the same way, there are many missions besides the main one to be carried out, which gives it a long life of time.

You have many more weapons to use, vehicles to drive, and radio stations to listen to, all set in the time in which takes place, in its time it was one of the best games of all time thanks to its innovations.

Is it worth replaying them in Grand T heft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition?

The answer depends on whether or not you played them in their original version, because although visually, there are improvements, is riddled with technical problems that make you want to dust off the other versions, and save yourself all those details, although Rockstar already promised that they would be fixed through an update , so while this patch arrives, you’d better keep the good memories of those games that marked a before and after in the industry and that are from 10. We give this collection a 6.5 of 10. It is available now on Xbox Series X / S, One, PS4, PS5, and PC.
