Relatives of an unvaccinated Hispanic couple from Chicago who died from Covid – 19 weeks before their scheduled wedding, they presented the case to encourage Latinos to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Luis Suárez and Norma Franco had been together for years and had decided to get married next 26 November , after Thanksgiving, but the plans were interrupted by Covid – 19, Ángel Santos, son of Suárez, told local media.
Santos said that Suárez and Franco were not vaccinated when contracted Covid – 19. Although the bride and groom planned to get vaccinated so they could reunite with the family at their wedding, the delay in vaccination cost them life , valued.
“People are worried about side effects, but the side effects of losing a family member are terrible, and that’s what happens if you don’t get vaccinated, “Santos told ABC 7 in Chicago when talking about the case.
Suárez and Franco were admitted to the same hospital, but because they were not married they were in separate rooms and were not allowed to communicate with each other, the family said.
The members of the couple died within a week of each other at the end of October.
Coronavirus cases are on the rise again in the United States .
Some Midwest hospitals have a large influx of patients, and some experts fear it is the beginning of a nationwide surge, just as Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve celebrations are coming.
