The same storm from the Pacific that left several inches of water on the west coast of the country , will traverse the Rocky Mountains and cause significant snowfall in southern Canada, the two Dakotas and Minnesota in the middle of this week , according to AccuWeather. On the other hand, the southern edge of the storm will generate heavy rains in the Southeastern United States.
A cold rain will arrive north of the Great Plains on Wednesday causing a drop in temperatures that could reach 30 ° F in some areas on Wednesday . As the storm strengthens later that day, cold air will push it south, turning the water into snow that will fall on both Dakotas and Minnesota late Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
On the other hand, Wisconsin and Iowa could see some precipitation for Friday afternoon. If Minneapolis receives a snowfall, it will be the first of the season for the city that usually sees snow coming during the first days of November.
The same storm could generate gusty winds of up to 70 miles per hour in areas of the Midwest like Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago and Springfield, Illinois plus Bismarck in North Dakota . Those winds will be strong enough to knock down large trees and power lines, so meteorologists recommended taking forecasts.
Experts say the storm could fade once the weekend rolls around, but temperatures are not going to drop. They added that another cold system is likely to leave snowfall as Canada’s cold winds move eastward as days go by, followed by another injection of even colder winter winds .
