The life of Ana María Cuéllar, of 67 years, was turned off in an instant . Last Saturday, an accident registered in the kilometer 25 of the Mexico-Puebla highway , took Ana María by surprise and others 18 more people, who perished while preparing to cross the San Marcos Huixtoco booth.
According to relatives, Ana María Cuéllar arrived two weeks ago from the United States in the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl in the State of Mexico to spend a month with her family, after several years of living in the northern country.
During his stay, agreed to a two-day trip to Atlixco, in Puebla, with his brother-in-law and his sister . A place that at this time calls many tourists for its floral carpets and Illuminated Villa.
Thus, on Saturday morning, Ana María, her sister Gudelia Guadalupe from 66 years and Juan Moisés Rosas of 76 years they took their vehicle and left for Puebla, where the latter was originally from.
The trip promised to be unforgettable, as in the end it was, and minutes before 13 hours when they were close to the toll booth, a cargo truck that ran out of brakes rammed them.
Given the condition of the bodies, the authorities had to resort to the identification via DNA, the first officially identified victim was just Ana María Cuéllar.
According to Adrián Cuellar, Gudelia’s son, told the newspaper Excelsior from Mexico , he remembers that his mother and his compadre, “ were going to take his aunt, who had just arrived come from the United States, to get to know the place and enjoy a weekend , as they did at least once a month. ”
In the last three months, the Mexico-Puebla highway, at kilometer 33, where the toll booth is located San Marcos, there have been three similar events where large vehicles were left without brakes and caused multiple material damage and killing dozens of people.
